Naphtha is a love story with materiality. It is made out of surfaces gathering, of inorganic breaths and of History to imagine.
Based into a choreographic research around the breath, and inspired from the texts of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change from the U.N.), Delphine Mertens explores the limits between the technical functions and the aesthetic experiences they can provoke. Questioning our perception of the aliveness, she blurs the distinction between organic and inorganic, and wonders how to bring love to all our extensions.

Naphtha est une plongée amoureuse dans la matérialité. Elle est faite de surfaces qui se rencontrent, de respirations inorganiques et d’Histoire à s’inventer.
A partir d’une recherche chorégraphique autour du souffle, et inspirée des textes du GIEC (Groupe d’experts intergouvernemental sur l’évolution du climat de l’ONU), Delphine Mertens explore les limites entre la technicité et l’expérience esthétique qu’elle peut provoquer. Questionnant notre perception du vivant, elle brouille la distinction entre organique et inorganique, et explore comment amener de l’amour à nos extensions les plus lointaines.
